Blue Lagoon School is an independent, artist-run initiative based in Riga, established by artists Evita Vasiļjeva and Kaspars Groševs. Founded in 2025 as a platform for sharing knowledge and creative methods, the programme brings together experienced practitioners with curious minds for an intensive 6-day hands-on learning experience.
The school places focus upon experimental teaching methods, primary materials, shared discussions, and cross-disciplinary approaches to art, language, and process. Each year, guest tutors from across the Baltic states are invited to take part in the learning/teaching synergy and exchange insights.
Blue Lagoon School is open to anyone between the ages of 16 and 99 who wants to discover new perspectives in their creative process. The programme aims to develop manual and intellectual skills through collective and individual work, gestural constellations, experimental studies, and sketches. It is a safe place where one can search, get lost and find their way back through uncharted paths, exploring different modes of imagination.
In 2026, Blue Lagoon School will hold its second convocation on August 10 and will have classes all the way to August 15 at Kim? Contemporary Art Centre in Riga, Hanzas street 22.
