Blue Lagoon School is an independent, artist-run initiative based in Riga, established by international contemporary artists Evita Vasiļjeva and Kaspars Groševs. Founded in 2025 as the first art summer school in the Baltics, it brings together artists, students and thinkers for an intensive 6 day hands-on learning experience.
The school focuses on experimental teaching methods, basic materials, shared discussions, and cross-disciplinary approaches to art, language, and process. Each year, guest teachers from the Baltic states are invited to work closely with participants.
Blue Lagoon is open to anyone aged 16 to 99 looking to discover their creative potential. The school aims to develop manual and intellectual dexterity through collective and individual idea fixation, experimental studies, and sketches. It is a space to find your position not only on paper, but also in time and space, exploring the environments where art takes root and flourishes in our contemporary era.
In 2026, Blue Lagoon School will hold its second edition from August 10 to 15 at Kim? Contemporary Art Centre in Riga, Hanzas street 22.
The Blue Lagoon Summer School is supported by Kim? Contemporary Art Centre and 427 Gallery.
